The Power of the Galaxy Power Spectrum

Wide field redshift surveys offer great promise to use baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO) as a distance probe, map the cosmological density and velocity fields in 3D, and compare the growth history of the universe to the expansion history. Measurements of the galaxy power spectrum from future surveys such as BigBOSS, in combination with CMB and other probes, can greatly advance our understanding of the nature of dark energy, primordial perturbations, neutrino masses, and test Einstein gravity.
