The nature and technology university research centres are participating in the progress of scientific knowledge, the development of local expertise, and in the attraction of international experts in all fields of natural science and engineering.

If Québec maintains a significant influence in scientific research in the world, it is because of its dedicated researchers and their students. But it is also thanks to the nature and technology university research centres, which are favouring a collaborative research model, unique in North America, and which allowed for the development of research groups now ranking among the world’s bests in their respective fields.

Many discoveries coming from the nature and technology university research centres led to patents, commercialized products, and new companies leading to large economic benefits for Québec. Many research groups are directly working on the protection of the environment or on a sustainable management of our natural resources.
