Battle-Scarred Final Masses: White Dwarfs Hacked and Torn by Dying Giants

We will present evidence for a new evolutionary pathway to create low mass, helium core white dwarfs within a Hubble time. This mechanism is likely to be relatively common, and the implied mass loss enhancement may have subtle or noticeable effects on the mass distribution of white dwarfs.
