New modeling of the Infrared Emission from White Dwarfs with Circumstellar Disks

We will present a model for circumstellar disks for white dwarfs with infrared excess that takes into account radial grain settling. We find that this leads to an increase of the level of the disk temperature in the outward radial direction in comparison with simpler disk models. We will apply our model to reanalyze the infrared observations of some of the best known DAZ and show that in some cases we find solutions that do not exceed the accepted sublimation temperature of grains or violate other limits such as the outer Roche limit for disk radii.
