Making Sense of the Fast Radio Burst Population
Duncan Lorimer
West Virginia University

Fast radio bursts are bright pulses of millisecond duration of extragalactic origin that astronomers have been studying since their discovery almost two decades ago. Following a brief introduction to the field, I will review recent and ongoing projects that aim to better characterize the nature of the underlying populations of these enigmatic sources. I will conclude with some ideas about future projects which I hope will be of broad interest.
