Technical analysis of the transit wavelength solution of JWST observations

Dereck-Alexandre Lizotte ( Université de Montréal )

A novel end-to-end technical analysis of JWST data is presented for use in preparation of upcoming JWST transit observations of the exoplanet HAT-P-1b. It is shown that generalized background subtractions do not sufficiently remove suspected stellar contaminants in the transit wavelength solution of JWST exoplanet data. To promote better agreement between theoretical models and observations of stellar spectra, we apply corrections based on cross-correlation techniques.
