BRITE-Constellation now in full bloom

Tony Moffat ( Université de Montréal )

Some 12 years since the original conception, we are now drinking from the proverbial firehose! As originally envisaged “the primary goal of BRITE-Constellation is to constrain the basic properties of intrinsically luminous stars – i.e. stars that most affect the ecology of the Universe – by measuring their oscillations on hour to month timescales, based on dual-broadband, ultra-high precision photometric time-series from space”. This entails a variety of projects, ranging from main-sequence OBAF stars to all kinds of supergiants, along with red giants and various binaries. BRITE has now observed over 100 targets, with many more to come, and a flurry of publications is on the way. I will highlight some of the science so far.
