Synthetic spectra are a fundamental input for irradiance reconstruction models based on a semi-empirical approach. Nevertheless, syntheses obtained with different codes may lead to different results, especially in the UV, due to approximations adopted in the codes and the use of different atomic and molecular inputs. We compare spectra obtained with codes widely used for Irradiance reconstructions to investigate whether uncertainties in the radiative transfer may take into account of differences in the reconstructed irradiance variability obtained with different models. To this aim, we compare NLTE syntheses obtained using RH and an updated version of COSI using 1D models. We also compare average intensities emerging from 3D-MHD snapshots computed in LTE with RH and ATLAS9 opacity tables at different spectral resolutions. We find that approximations adopted in the codes and in the opacity computations may critically affect estimates of irradiance variability.
