UV solar irradiance strongly affects the chemical and physical properties of the Earth ‘s atmosphere. UV radiation is also a fundamental input for modeling the habitable zones of stars and their exo-planets. The aim of this work is to extend UV estimates in the past, when measurements were not available, making use of a reconstruction technique that, based on the use of the Sunspot Number as proxy, well reproduces modern observations of the UV color, Ca II and Mg II indices.
