Space Climate 7 Meeting Abstract

INDICATORS OF SOLAR ACTIVITY (1943 - 2019) DERIVED FROM SUNSPOT DRAWINGS FROM THE ONDŘEJOV OBSERVATORY

Martina Exnerova (Astronomical Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences)

Sunspot drawing are made in the region of former Czechoslovakia since 1871. Put together, these data cover almost fourteen solar cycles without any gap. This drawings represent observation from numerous observing stations, which numbered at least ten stations at any time between 1920's and now. Such a broad dataset can allow us to derive longterm indicators of solar activity, which are not dependent on a single observing station or an observer. Currently, we are working with data since 1943 from the Astronomical Institute of Czech Academy of Sciences in Ondřejov. We are also putting togehter sunspot drawings from other stations in the region. In this poster, we present the first results based on the Ondřejov dataset. We show here graphs of relative sunspot number, CV-index, RB-index, N-S asymmetry and the butterfly diagram. We also compare the relative sunspot number obtained from our data with dataset of RWC Boulder and SILSO. In future, we aim to extend this work to derive the solar activity indicators from the entire data series from the region of Czechoslovakia since 1871.
