Abstract
Open cluster members and the initial mass-final mass relation

The initial mass-final mass relation (IFMR) is one of the fundamental relationships relating to white dwarfs. Semi-empirical IFMRs are usually derived using open cluster members, which has led to a well defined relationship focusing on 0.8 Msun, more massive than the average white dwarf. I will present searches for new white dwarf members of Alpha Per and NGC2477 with which to define the higher mass end of the IFMR. I will also discuss the implication of Gaia's likely effect on the IFMR.
